no background effects on Microsoft Teams running on Windows 10

Hi

I have downloaded and installed MS Teams  1.3.00.24755 but cannot  locate the backgrounds anywhere in the program.

My PC is running 12mb of ram, cpu is AMD Phenom 11 x 4 965, MBoard - ASUS M4A88TD-V EVO /USB 3

Can you, Microsoft advise if you will have a fix soon?

All media seem to indicate that my MS Teams is missing AVX2.dll.

Thanks to advise how can I get the background effects to be installed.

Hi

My name is Daniel. I am an Independent Advisor and consumer of Microsoft products, I will be more than happy to help you.

I want to let you know the optional Background video effects are not supported on processors without an AVX2 instruction set running on Windows 8.1 or below.

Please refer to this article on how to change your background for a Teams meeting:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/chan...

The ease keeps in mind if you don't see "Show background effects", that's usually because your device isn't supported yet. Please refer to hardware requirement page: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams...

Note:
- Blurring or replacing your background might not prevent sensitive information from being visible to other meeting participants.
- Background effects are only available for scheduled meetings.
- As of the moment, Linux users aren't able to use this feature.

Kind Regards

Hi Daniel

I have Windows 10 which is supported but still no background effects in MS Teams and my desktop PC matches or supasses the basic requirements as suggested https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/hardware-requirements-for-the-teams-app

My desktop PC surpasses the below requirements yet no background effects in Microsoft Teams.... Please advise, if my pc meets the basic requirements why no background effects?

Computer and processor Minimum 1.6 GHz (or higher) (32-bit or 64-bit).
Memory 2.0 GB RAM
Hard disk 3.0 GB of available disk space
Display 1024 x 768 screen resolution
Graphics hardware Minimum of 128 MB graphics memory
Operating system Windows Server 2012 R2+, Windows 10, or Windows 8.1 in 32-bit and 64-bit. For the best experience, use the latest version of your operating system.
.NET version Requires .NET 4.5 CLR or later
Video USB 2.0 video camera

Any help or assistance is appreciated.

Thanks in advance

If you think your computer surpasses the below requirements then the next step you need to do is double-checking whether your processor supports AVX2. In this case, you need to ask your computer manufacturer support team for more info about this.
