New Teams - "We've run into a server error..." Every day since launch

I sure hope Microsoft does not push out New Teams in September like they are planning until they figure out this server error that I get daily. The produce has been nothing but a pain in the **** since the Pre version has been available.

Hello IPC_ahaas

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

I understand that you have an issue running the New Microsoft Teams wherein you encountered a server error. Let’s work together in finding the best resolution to this issue.

For me to better understand the issue, I’d like to ask a few questions:

  • What is the version of your Microsoft Teams app?

  • Are you using Microsoft Teams for Consumer or Business?

  • What is the domain of the affected account used in Teams?

  • Have you tried to sign out and sign back in?

I would recommend the following steps:

  • Clear the cache and cookies of your browser and restart the app.

  • Check if there are any updates available for the Teams app and install them.

  • Try accessing Teams from a different device or browser to see if the issue persists.

  • If the issue still persists, you can try uninstalling and reinstalling the Teams app.

We look forward to your next response.

Regards,

Jason Guer

I also face this issue -- intermittently in the past and almost every day in the last 1 week.

The connection issue is experienced in the Teams App and Outlook app in my Windows 10 Enterprise laptop.

Teams App currently running is [version 23272.2707.2453.769] while the Outlook app is [Microsoft® Outlook® for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2309 Build 16.0.16827.20166) 64-bit].

Teams app will show the message as "We’ve run into a server error. Some functions might not work right now but you can continue to use the app." while the outlook app will show "Trying to connect".

To clarify -- we are not facing these connection issue when we use Outlook or Teams with a Web Browser BUT when we use the Windows Applications for Teams or Outlook, this issue is experienced regularly. Any attempt to sign out or exit these applications and trying to launch them again does not resolve it.

The resolution so far has always been to restart the laptop and let these connections work OR in the interim, login into my office 365 account on a Web Browser to use these applications from the browser.

Request a priority attention and resolution for this issue.

I've had this exact same issue for the past week and a half, and if I restart my computer, it doesn't change anything. I've only been able to use the web browser version, but I'd like to be able to use the desktop version. Hopefully this'll get fixed soon?

Hello,

I have a person that is having this issue daily now. They have the latest version of Teams (23285.3604.2469.4152). They had the classic version of Teams previously, but I uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version. I've also run an online repair of Office 365.

In order for Teams to work, the web version of Teams must be used.

This is Teams for work/school (on a domain).

The domain is cnshealthcare.org.

The last few days I was able to get Teams working by rebooting the computer.

Thank you.

I've also had this issue for about a week and a half. Rebooting does not solve the problem.
