My friends don't get RSVP email of new Ms Teams group events?

Hello.

I'm using personal account on free version of Microsoft Teams. I made a group and send an invitation link to my friends to join the group. They joined.

Whenever I make a new event on the group, it sends me an email of RSVP. But my friends in the group said that they don't receive such email. They have to go to the group's dashboard and add each event manually to their Outlook. Is there anything possible for them to get an auto-sync from free Ms Teams group to Outlook calendar?

Thanks!

Hi

My name is Daniel. I am an Independent Advisor.

Unfortunately, the MS Team free only comes with limited scheduling features or a non-fully functional calendar. You can't see or sync the meeting invites from your email inbox to the MS Team free desktop app. If you need a fully functional scheduling feature then you need to purchase a paid plan.

Let me share this video so you can double-check the scheduling feature in MS Team free: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mY7fQH8fCf4

As you can see on the demo video above On the MS Team free Desktop app you can see the meeting/calendar icon on the left menu, but when you click the schedule meeting button the MS Team free desktop app will open a new browser tab then redirect you to Outlook.com/Gmail web app. So actually you will schedule a meeting calendar on Outlook.com/Gmail web app and not on MS Team free app.

Hello Daniel.

Thanks for the response.

I am using the personal account on mobile Ms Teams App. It is not an organization account so it is not about scheduling a meeting on a team channel. There isn't 'Teams' tab on this account. There are only activity, chat, calendar, tasks, camera, files, calls, and safe. So this is more like a group chat rather than a particular teams.

Is there any reference to this kind of thing? Let me attach some pictures to visualize things better

You are absolutely correct, MS Team for personal life doesn't offer a Team tab. You need to use the Organization account to access the Team tab.

I don't need the Team tab. I just wonder why I got an RSVP email while the other group chat members don't..

I've tested this issue on my own, apparently, MS Team for personal indeed send RSVP to the event creator only, so you still need to share the event with others. It seems this is the current limitation of MS Team for personal, if you need a fully functional calendar then it's available on the paid version.

Please select an event from the calendar > then select participant > Invite friends to Team.
