MS Teams mobile android app record incoming and outgoing phone calls

Hi all,

We have a MS Business account with a MS phone licence and a MS calling plan for MS Teams.

We can record incoming and outgoing Voip/PSTN calls via the Web and Desktop App unfortunately the Android Mobile App does not

show us a "start record" button when we get called by a internal or external phone number on our MS business voice number given from Microsoft.

I have attached a Screenshot of the "more options" button of the mobile android app.

The question is: Is it possible to record incoming and outgoing phone calls with the MS Teams mobile app? (not meetings, phone calls!)

(you can do so with the web and desktop app)

Hi Igor,

so the convenience recording feature is already in production and available within the web and desktop app! The link you have posted does nothing have to do with my specific question concerned about the Mobile android app.

For everyone to note: you can do cloud record 1:1 convenience calls via the Desktop and web Application! Do not let you tell otherwise.

The function is already there, as I have written. It seems that just the mobile android app does not have this feature and I would like to have an official response if this is really the case or if there is a specific way how to do this with the mobile app or another settings that need to be set or it is just not implemented for the android app atm.

Do you understand my question?

Yes. As I said, feature is available to record a meeting on mobile app but its not available to record a 1:1 to call yet.

first of all on my last response I was not talking about Meeting recordings, I was talking about 1:1 phone call recordings.

Why is the feature to record 1:1 phone call recordings available in the Web and also desktop app, but not in the android app? This seems so odd to me.

It would be great for this question that you confirm the following.

MS Teams meeting recording availability:

Yes for Web App

Yes for Desktop App

Yes for mobile App

MS Teams 1:1 phone call recording availability:

Yes for the Web App

Yes for the Desktop App

No for the mobile App

Do you confirm?

I would like to have an official confirmation for this, it is strange that a cloud recording can not be done for 1:1 calls in the mobile app but in the Linux and Windows desktop app....

How can MS teams compete with softphone apps without having this features?

Yes, it is possible to record meetings on the web, desktop, and mobile apps.

For 1:1 calls, it is possible based on the forum article below.

It may not be available on mobile devices yet at this time. For this reason, I highly recommend submitting a request for this feature at https://aka.ms/TeamsFeedback.
It is a brilliant functionality that we, Teams users, would benefit from if added.
