Microsoft Teams: Use Apple AirPods to mute/unmute on Windows

Based on your description, I understand your concern with using Apple AirPods to mute/unmute on Microsoft Teams for Windows.

According to my search, the Microsoft Feedback Team said they will share an update of Enabling Airpods usage Microsoft 365 Roadmap | Microsoft 365 as soon as one is available. Enable Airpods usage on Teams · Community (microsoft.com)

Meanwhile, there is also a feature in development on Windows that enables you to mute/unmute by clicking the mic icon in Windows taskbar, or by pressing the Windows logo key + Alt + K referring to: Microsoft 365 Roadmap | Microsoft 365.

The link you provided to the roadmap, is not the issue or what is needed, "Microsoft Teams: Control your mic state during meetings from Windows taskbar available in the new Teams on Windows". This is via the taskbar, not the AirPods themselves.

Even the comments your screenshot shows that others want and need this:
