Microsoft Teams on Mac: Spaces require double click +

When you use multiple spaces on Macos (tested on 12.2.1), Teams window does not follow the default behaviour.

On a regular app, if you click the dock icon or cmd+tab, the focus is changed to the correct space and the main (or last) window is brought to the foreground.

With Teams, it does not switch space automatically. So if you're in the same space, it does bring the app to the foreground. If not, it just selects the application and stays in the current space.

Is this a bug or intentional?

Please, this issue needs to be fixed! It's been like this forever and still no fix. This makes Teams a very tiresome app to work in. It shouldn't have to be reported from within the app since many of us is dependent of an IT-admin to help with privileges to report a problem.

It has been like this since the beginning. I estimate I loose about 30 min per work day in trying to tab to or click to access Teams on my Mac. It's the most annoying experience I have ever experienced with any app ever. We went from Slack to Teams and this was not an issue in Slack.

For my next job I will make sure they not use Teams and if they later switch to Teams I will quit... it is that annoying actually

Totally agree with Gore.

This is incredibly annoying. The number of times I click then prep to work... and I have to reclick in the dock is killing me.

Just to add my voice to this thread ;-)

PLEASE fix this bug as others have already said it's incredibly annoying - especially when your habitual workflow is to use the mission control gensure and the dock to flick between your working spaces.

That double-click extra is a small bug on paper but it occurs thousands of times a day so it's SO visible.

Not to mention the amount of time I wasted looking for the setting to fix it :-(

Cheers

This problem still exists! This bug has been an issue for over 2 years now on MacOS!

Running MacOS 12.6 on an M1 MacBook Pro and Microsoft Teams Version 1.5.00.26358.

Makes Teams very difficult to use productively when using multiple desktop spaces to work in MacOS.

Please fix and thank you!

Try "Turn off animations" under Settings.

That workaround worked for me.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!

Previously command+shift wouldn't work at all, and I had to click twice on MS Teams in Dock.

Now Command+Shift and clicking on icon activates MS Teams immediately.

UPDATE: July 31, 2023: The fix above ultimately didn't work for more than a day. HOWEVER, if you upgrade to Mac's Ventura release, the problem completely goes away.

I tried again this morning, and it seems to work for me (without "turning off animations" as described below), clicking icon in dock or doing command+tab.

I'm running macOS Ventura 13.1 and Teams 1.6.00.364.
