Microsoft Teams Free (Classic) Sign-in issues

We are using Microsoft Teams Free (Classic) for over a year. Until recently we were able invite new users to into teams without an issue. when the user tries to login to Team to join they get the following message. This happens for Both the Team App and the browser. I did see a post that said that Teams Free (Classic) was going to be removed and new sign-ins were not allowed, but anyone in it already can still use Teams. I am just try to get conformation on this.

Hi Brian,

My name is Didi. Let me help you.

As far as I'm aware, Teams free (classic) won't be removed. I have an account and there is no message or information regarding the removal. It also doesn't indicate an expiration date.

If you are the person who created the organization, you may try the following steps to confirm the user's Teams free license:

1. Sign in to https://aad.portal.azure.com/
2. Click on 'Users' on the left pane > find and click on the affected user.
3. On the left side, select Licenses > Microsoft Teams (free) > see if It is turned on similar to the attached screenshot. Otherwise, enable it and hit save.

Afterward, the user can try signing in again.

Let me know if you have any clarifications.

Kind regards,
