Microsoft teams crashes my pc on screen share

I was having a meeting with my college professor and when he tries to share the screen with me my pc freezes and then it restarts.

Screen sharing is very important for our meetings, and I was wondering is there a way to fix this problem?

Hello Josip,

My name is Juan Pedro, I am an Independent Advisor and consumer of Microsoft products. I will be more than happy to assist you today!

Please make sure that you have a steady internet connection and please make sure that you have only the apps/programs opened when sharing your screen.

If the problem persists, please try rebooting your device/computer or try uninstalling and reinstalling Teams.

I hope this helped. I will be around in case you need something else.

Thank you.

Does it happens every time or it only happens once?

Was there any error message or Blue Screen error?

Make sure you have updated Windows and check and make sure your graphic card driver is also updated.

There was a blue screen error message but I didn't get to read it and changed my Teams to use my dedicated graphic card instead of an integrated one.

I will try some of your recommendations, and i will keep you notified if it works.

Since it was blue screen error, Windows already collect and send log files (if you are using default settings) and Windows team will investigate the issue.

I consistently get the blue screen so MS is collecting lots of data.  Usually I just switch to WebEx, Skype or Zoom and the issue goes away.  Only Teams has this issue.  The error produced is SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED.  I can make this happen rather consistently.  At first I thought it was another program conflict but I tried closing everything else and it still happens.  One factor though, it happens more if someone else creates (hosts) the meeting than if I create/host the meeting.  Whatever it is, it causes a momentary thermal spike that kills the PC.  The MS solution of stripping the computer down to nothing in order to run their program is got to be the dumbest response I have ever heard

I am also facing the same issue.

As soon as I share my screen, in 5-6 seconds I get a blue screen.

Any solution ?

Same issue here! Brand new laptops. Also SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED. It's on a HP ENVY X360 with Ryzen CPU/GPU.
My guess is: update GPU drivers.

I also have X360. This issue started just last week for me. I managed to resolve the issue by downloading and updating graphics drivers from AMD website. Don't trust windows graphics driver update.

Me too, HP Envy X360, BlueScreens with Teams out of the blue. Zoom or Skype for Business no problem.

So it seems that HP has to work on it and/or the Ryzen7 is not working as it should.

Hi Sikandervon,

Newest gpu driver from AMD website worked for us! It was 20.5 i guess.
