Microsoft Teams - Any way to resize left pane?

My organization has adopted Microsoft Teams.  I use it on my Windows 10 desktop as well as on my older laptop running Ubuntu Linux.  I noticed on both platforms, I'm unable to resize the left pane when I have the chat open.  Is there something I'm missing? I'd like the chat to be maybe 1/3 of the screen and the screen share on 2/3 of the screen.  It is very difficult to both chat and see the screen being shared.

Hello Kai,

Thanks for the detailed information you provided. I have removed your personal information from the screenshots for the sake of your information security.

As far as I know, we couldn’t resize the left pane for Teams yet, unfortunately.

However, there is a feature of turning on new meeting experience available now, where new meetings and calls will be open in separate windows. In this way, you will be able to access and resize the shared screen and chat window as you like.

To turn on this feature, please kindly open your profile in Teams, go to Settings > General, under Application, please check the checkbox of “Turn on new meeting experience” and restart Teams. You will be able to enjoy the new feature then.

Please find the following screenshot for your reference.

If you cannot see this option in your Settings, this may happen because this feature is newly published. So please kindly update your Teams Desktop Client to see how it goes.

Hope this helps. Please feel free to let us know if you have any questions about this. I’ll be happy to help.

Best Regards,

Jasmine
