Logging into Teams with military credentials

Using my home computer, I used to be able to login to teams with no issue when using my CAC (common access card) and pin number.

However, a few days ago when prompted how to open Teams, I clicked open app instead of open web app. This obviously took me straight to the installed app and logged me in automatically with my saved civilian username and password. Ever since then I have not been able to access my military teams account on this computer. It works just fine on any other computer though.

So far I have elected to not remember passwords, and not automatically login, cleared history browsing data and saved login information, and even did a reset of the computer. All which have not fixed the issue.

Any ideas?

Hello Jeremy,

Sorry to know that you are experiencing this issue. Let me help you!

I just want to clarify, are you trying to use Teams web instead of app?

You also mentioned that you can no longer access Teams on a specific device. Can you please share if there's any error code or message you are getting whenever you try to sign in?

With your Military access, are you using Teams personal or for work?

Please let me know so that I can assist you further.

Kind regards,
Jayzar

Hello and thank you for your response! Yes, I am trying to use the web instead of the installed app on my PC. The only error message I will get when trying to login are as follows... it will take me back to the login page and says my username or password could not be verified. But when this happens, my civilian gmail.com email is entered into the username area even though I was trying to login with military access using my card.

And this will be for work on one of my personal computers.

Hi Jeremy,

Pleasure is all mine. Let's get this fixed!

I found an article where it will give you an in-depth step by step guide [screenshots includes] – How to make Teams links open in the browser rather than the desktop app.

Please try to follow the suggested guide: https://businesstechplanet.com/how-to-make-team...

You can also use Teams on the web by visiting https://teams.microsoft.com.

Note: This is a non-Microsoft website. The page appears to be providing accurate, safe information. Watch out for ads on the site that may advertise products frequently classified as a PUP (Potentially Unwanted Products). Thoroughly research any product advertised on the site before you decide to download and install it.

Let me know if this fix the problem or not so that I can look for another option.

Kind regards,
Jayzar

I am also having this problem. It started yesterday for me (09/05/2023) I can log into MS Teams from every device now except my Mac OS Monterey desktop app. When I attempt to use my military CAC card, to log in it takes me through the authentication part and then I get this message: "AADSTS9002313: Invalid request. Request is malformed or invalid." All certificates are good and I can log in on my Mac using the MS Teams web version with no problems.

I have attempted all of the easy things, removing preferences, clearing the key chain, deleting and re-establishing my military Teams account. Nothing works so far. I need some help and a few suggestions. Thanks
