Hi Long, hope you're doing well. I’m Ian, and I’m happy to help you today.

As of now, you can’t pop-out a personal chat or meeting in the Teams browser client.

I would suggest to submit feedback to the support engineer team so that they can add this in the future releases.
https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/f...

This is a user-to-user support forum and I am a fellow user.
I hope this helps, but please let me know if you need anything else.

Hi Ian,

Thanks for your reply,

Here is the UI on my old laptop, as you can see, the meeting windows got pop-out and it's is very convenient to use.

Image

moreover,

1. I could pop out chat windows on Teams on the new PC, but can not pop out in the new PC which I've just installed Teams today

2. I've tried to install Teams on my brother's laptop, and it can pop out meeting windows normally,

How could I check and determine why Teams showed up like serveral months ago on my new PC?

Is there any setting for this?

I see, you are using a teams apps. It seems the configurations/settings you have is correct.
I suggest to clear your Teams desktop app cache:
1. Sign out on Teams > Quit Microsoft Teams by right clicking the icon and select Quit.
2. On your keyboard, Hold Windows key and Press R
3. Cut and paste %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams in the RUN then OK.
4. Delete the contents of the entire folder.
5. Restart Microsoft Teams > Sign In.

Hi Long,

My name is Didi. I'm happy to help you today.

Sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue. Please try clearing the Teams cache once again, then, uninstall the app, and reinstall from https://aka.ms/GetTeams using a Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge browser and see if there's any difference.

Best regards,
Didi

Hello Long,

Thank you for the response. Usually, if we're using the desktop app, the meeting control bar is located on top of the window, especially, on Windows. It might depend though on the device we're using.

For testing purposes, could you try creating a new local user account on your device, install Teams, and run a test meeting?

Otherwise, I suggest reporting this issue by giving feedback directly to Teams. Click on the Help icon > Give feedback.

Thank you very much for your patience.

I just did a write up on this:

If a user is running Windows 11 with “Teams for Work or School” installed and within the past few weeks, their Teams application has started looking a bit odd and not behaving the same way, it is because of an update to the “Teams for Home or Small Business” that comes pre-installed with Windows 11. The behavior is best identified when a user accesses a meeting in Teams. The expected behavior is the meeting to be opened in a separate window from Teams, however, Teams looks like this when opening a meeting:

Image

As you can see, there are no “reactions” any longer. The only reaction that is available is the ability to raise hand. Additionally, the video gallery can no longer be relocated. If you attempt to access the chat or teams icons on the left navigation menu, the meeting is minimized to a very small window within the Teams application like this:

Image

To resolve this issues, follow these steps:

  1. Quit Teams for work or school by right-mouse clicking on the Teams icon in the lower right-hand corner next to clock and selecting Quit from the sub-menu.

  2. Click the up carrot (^) to show any hidden application icons. You will see another Teams icon there. Right-mouse that icon and select Quite from the sub-menu.

  3. In File Explorer, navigate to %appdata%\Microsoft\ and delete the Teams folder.

  4. In Windows 11, go to the Settings app and from the menu on the left select Apps.

  5. Click on Installed apps.

  6. In the “Search apps” text box type “Teams” and uninstall all Microsoft Teams related applications (there should be three: Teams for work or school, Teams, systems wide installer for Teams).

  7. Reboot the Windows 11 system after all the Teams apps have been uninstalled.

  8. Log into the system and in either Edge or Chrome go to: https://aka.ms/GetTeams

  9. Click the “Download for desktop” tile.

  10. Click the “Download Teams” tile under the “Teams for work or school” and run the installer.

!!!DO NOT DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL THE TEAMS FOR HOME OR SMALL BUSINESS!!!

Once the installer has been run, Teams will start normally and run as expected. This issue may return on the next Windows 11 update.
