How to install Teams add-in to Outlook Classic?

5. Have you set Teams as the Default Chat App for Office? In Teams, go to Settings > General and check the option to “Register Teams as the chat app for Office” and Restart both Outlook and Teams.

I solved this by doing the following:

- find Teams installation directory. For me it was 'C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\MSTeams_24277.3507.3205.5228_x64__jkjerhtrtyr65'

- find a file 'MicrosoftTeamsMeetingAddinInstaller.msi'

- close Outlook (classic) and run the installer

I am getting this error while installing Microsoft Teams Meeting Add-In. Could you please help to fix it

Having the same problem and I've tried everything including re-installing both Teams and Outlook. The Teams COM does not show up in my list of add-ins.

I too face the same problem with my MSI installer.

I tired to build my entire MSI installer in net3.5 , net4.5, net2.0 but still i am facing the issue .

My Teams does not have the Registered highlighted option. Under General/Systems I only have two options: Aito-start teams & Open application in background.

I am also having this same issue.

It first came up for 1 user in January and it is slowly making its way round all the other users in the business.

I have tried everything, the tick box in the general settings. Looking for the Add-in installer, which no longer seems to exist.

Trying editing reg keys, but the one suggested on other posts do not exist either and manually adding them doesn't do anything.

They all used to have it and work and then as time goes on it gets replaced with the Skype add-in, which we don't even use.

I dont see the 3rd and 4th options ?
