Text Box like lines in Word

Every time I open a new Word document the line I want to type on has a box around it. When I go to the next line another box is created until the whole page is filled with boxes. This makes my document very hard to read and hard to tell where my curser is if I want to go and edit a line. It is also creating weird formatting issues when I use paste. I took a screenshot below. This is what it looks like if I continue to just hit enter and create new lines. How do I get rid of these text box like windows?

Answer
Answer

Select File > Options.

Select Advanced in the navigation pane on the left hand side.

Scroll down to the 'Show document content' section.

Make sure that the check box 'Show text boundaries' is clear (not ticked).

Click OK.

Does that help?
