Word 2010 Normal Document Template error.

When I open word 2010 I get the following message : word has automatically saved changes to the Normal document template. Do you want to load it?  Can anyone advise me how to fix this very annoying problem?  Thanks
Answer
Answer
This message is a part of Word's document recovery mechanism in the event of a crash. The crash recovery notes that there were changes made before the crash that affected the normal template, and provides the opportunity to load a version of the normal template with those changes.

With Word closed, ensure that there are no orphan temporary files. See http://www.gmayor.com/what_to_do_when_word_crashes.htm . Then make a backup copy of your normal template. When Word restarts and you get the prompt, answer No.

Open the normal template normal.dotm in Word, add a character to the text space. Delete it, then save and close the normal template. The warning should now not occur again ... until the next time Word crashes with unsaved changes to the normal template.
