Question

Q: Drag and drop does not work This thread is locked from future replies

I'm unable to drag and drop in Word 2007 with Windows 7, 64 bit. Is there a fix for this?

Answer

A:

If you have a dialog box open (such as symbols, cross-reference, ...), drag-and-drop does not work, although you can still edit in your document. Close the window and it works again.
Sometimes it's just handy to keep these windows open in a second screen (eg. when adding a large number of symbols or tables, figures).

Answer

A:

If you are not able to drag and drop text follow these steps

1.      Open the Microsoft Word document.

2.       Click the 'Microsoft office' button.

3.       Click the 'Word Options' button. (The 'Word Options' dialog box appears) .

4.       In the left pane, click 'Advanced'. (The 'Advanced' screen appears).

5.      In the 'Editing options' section, select the 'Allow text to be dragged and dropped' check box.

6.      Click 'OK'.

If you are trying to drag and drop images follow these steps

1.      Insert the picture from the insert menu.

2.      Right click on the picture.

3.      Select text wrapping and change it from inline to any other option (like through, in front of etc).

4.      Now try moving the picture using your mouse.

Let me know if this helps.
