Word for Mac Error Message - "Compile error in hidden module: link"

After recent Word update getting the following error box: "Compile error in hidden module: link"  Version 15.25 (160719). Only occurs in Word and not other Office 365 programs. Will this be fixed next version?

Yes.  The recent update installed a fully-64-bit version of the Word code, and you have at least one add-in that is written for 32-bit that will not work with the current version of Word.

In your case, it's a file named linkCreation.dotm which is part of an Adobe plug-in.

You will find it in:

~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/User Content/Startup/Word/

Quit Word and drag that file to the desktop.  That should cure it.  If it does, you can delete the file: Adobe will produce an update for it.
