Merge to Email is greyed out.

Thank you, that was very helpful. One last question. I can't "Merge to Email", it's greyed out. On the walkthrough you sent, it says "Merge to E-Mail is unavailable if you have not selected your default email program.". How do I select my default email program? I thought it was already selected in my preferences for my Mac? 

Also, I still want to add a subject line, will I get that option when I finally "Merge to E-Mail"?


Merge to Email is available only if Outlook is set as your Default email program. The macOS does set the default, but sets it to its own email program :-)

That has to be done by changing the General Preferences in Apple's to specify Outlook as the default. It's best to Quit Word before doing so.
