Add a task list to the homepage

Hi,

I'm trying to see if there's a way to add a preview of the task list to the homepage of a SharePoint site? I want members of the site to see the top 10-15 tasks for all members when they log in to the site without having to click to the Tasks page? Either that or the task timeline on the homepage. Any help would be appreciated! I've tried searching, but I get confused with posts and tutorials about older versions of SharePoint, or the non-online versions.

Hi Brett,

Are you using an Office 365 group site or a normal SharePoint online site?

If you are using Office 365 group site, please follow the steps below to add the list preview to the homepage:

  1. Navigate to your SharePoint site
  2. Click Edit on the right of the page
  3. Scroll the page where you want to add the list preview web part.
  4. Hover your mouse above or below an existing web part and you'll see a line with plus icon.
  5. Click the plus icon, click List (Preview).
  6. Select the list which you wish to add.

If you are using the normal SharePoint online site, then you may add the list web part. To do this, follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to your SharePoint site
  2. Click Edit on the right.
  3. On the ribbon, click Insert.
  4. Click Web part
  5. In the Category, select Apps.
  6. Select the list which you want to add, click Add
