Unable to uninstall Skype for business

In my  new Windows 10 installation -  installed a month before - I installed office 2016.  So I got Skype for business. For me Skype for business is of no use and I needed the former Skype be able to use call note. I uninstalled Skype for business but all of a sudden Skype for business started at start up. I looked for the settings but the tag  for start up was not set.
I looked for the possibility to uninstall Skype for business but there was no Skype for business to find. I tried to change office 2016 but there is no option for removing single parts of it.

Hi Michael,

 

Thanks for your reply. Based on your description, you installed the Office 2016 suite (Windows Installer (MSI)). You can’t delete Skype for Business without uninstalling the rest of the Office suite since Skype for Business is integrated with other Office apps.

 

For you need (you don’t want to use Skype for Business), you can stop Skype for Business from starting automatically, then you’ll no longer see the Skype for Business. You can check:

 

  1. Open Skype for Business, choose the tools icon and Tools->options
  2. Go to personal, uncheck “Automatically start the app when I log on to Windows” and “Start the app in the foreground”
  3. Click OK
  4. Choose File->Exit
