The taskbar is always shown when in Presentation Mode in PowerPoint

When i am trying to run through my presentation in presentation mode, the taskbar is always shown at the bottom of the screen when in Presenter mode on my laptop's screen or on my monitor (when my laptop is not using it's display. If I use both my laptop and monitor to show the presentation notes on my laptop and the presentation on my monitor, the taskbar is visible on my laptop screen.

I mainly use my laptop plugged into my monitor, so when I play a presentation on my monitor (with the laptop display not being used at all) the taskbar shows while my presentation is being presented.

This has only started happening after I updated my computer.

Any help or possible temporary fixes would be greatly appreciated!

Try following -

1. Display the presentation in Slide show mode > Right click > Screen > Show task bar should be unchecked

2. Open Powerpoint > Slide Show tab > Set Up Slide Show > Make sure that Presented by a speaker (full screen) is selected

I have tried doing this and the Show task bar option is unchecked, and if I try to check it, it doesn't let me check it. I also tried pressing Alt +F5 to open up presenter view on my monitor and that doesn't do anything. the Presented by a speaker option has been ticked since I first used PowerPoint on my laptop 4 years ago.

Try repairing your Office installation. First try Quick Repair (takes 5 - 10 mins) , if that doesn't help then try Online Repair (Takes more than 30 mins but less than 1 hour in general)
