adding a video and audio click on the same slide

I am trying to insert a video and audio clip on the same slide.  When playing them back, one will play and other will just advance to the next slide and not play.  I need them to be attached to different pictures so when you click on the picture It will show you the video in full screen and then go back to the original slide and the audio just has play when you click on a different picture.
Hi Amy.
I am Lyn, an Independent Advisor and a fellow Microsoft user. Here to assist you in solving an issue.

I can see that you are having a slide with 2 pictures. 1 is link to a video and the other is link to an audio. Here's the trick to accomplish your objective.

Please follow below steps:
1. Insert the 1st picture in a slide. Let's say it is your Slide 1.
2. Add another slide (your slide 2) next to the previous slide. Insert the video. Resize it of you want. Then go to Playback. Under "Start" field: select Automatically.
3. Go to the slide 1 with picture inserted on it. Right-click and select "Hyperlink" > Link to Place in this Document. Then select slide 2. Click Ok.

4. Go back to previous slide (slide 1). Insert the audio. This is how it would look.

That's when you choose the second picture which plays the audio when clicked.
6. Go to Playback > under "Start:" choose "On Click". Make sure "Hide during show" checkbox is clear.
7. Right Click on Slide 1 and select Duplicate Slide. Drag the duplicated slide after
Slide 2. Play the slides to check whether your preference is attained.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Lyn

Attaching the video worked, but it did not allow the screen to be full and then go back to the slide when it was done.  Not like it does when you insert a video.   So I had to just make the 2 slides audio by linking them.  The rest of the slides I was able to have a video on them.  I will just have to continue to play with it or find a powerpoint manual for dummies  :)

Thanks for your help.

You're welcome Amy. Note that when you duplicate the slide after the video is played, it will basically look as if it was the previous slide where video is hyperlinked to the picture. Have a nice day

Kind Regards,
Lyn

I ran in to another issue now.  I have inserted the video and once it is done playing, it will go back to the original slide, which is what we want.  We we go to put the PPT on the workstation  (which is a touchscreen) it does not work.  We changed the playback to automatically, but then it automatically plays when the slide comes up, which we want them to read the slide first and then click on a picture to start the video.

I have it now linked with a shape to click on and the video works fine, but it will not close once the video is done.  You have hit the X at the top right to shut.  Is there anyway around that?

Thanks

Amy
