Powerpoint Online: Embedding without Password

I am looking to embed a Powerpoint file on a Wordpress site. In Powerpoint Online, I am able to generate the code for embedding (which works fine) but in order to view, a log-in is required.

I note that there is an option to share the file without requiring a log-in.

Is it possible to create an embedded version of the file without a log-in requirement?

Hi Scott,

After you embed a PPT file stored in Office 365 to Wordpress, it is an expected behavior that it requires sign-in when accessing the PPT.

As you suppose, we can combine the generated code with a guest link, then embed this to Wordpress. But please note, handcrafting URL for PowerPoint is not an Official supported scenario. In this situation, we can access this PPT file without log-in as expected, but we may not open the embed PPT in the full screen mode. If you are interested in this, you can check the following steps:

1. Open OneDrive for Business>open the PowerPoint file> on the top right corner, click more (…) option -> Embed -> get the embed code:

<iframe src='https://***-my.sharepoint.com/personal/***_***_**/_layouts/15/WopiFrame.aspx?sourcedoc={86c19fc6-8999-4a38-873b-260893bada1a}&action=embedview&wdAr=1.7777777777777777' width='350px' height='221px' frameborder='0'>This is an embedded <a target='_blank' href='https://office.com'>Microsoft Office</a> presentation, powered by <a target='_blank' href='https://office.com/webapps'>Office Online</a>.</iframe>

2. Get a link (Edit link - no sign-in required) of this file (SIE.PPTX) as below:

https://***-my.sharepoint.com/personal/***_***_**/_layouts/15/ guestaccess.aspx?docid=1d150f7e8ae2248eb80ceefb748821bbd&authkey=AW9tFCHNWwgTgvViE9v9tfo

3. Combine the above two links like the following:

<iframe src= ‘https://***-my.sharepoint.com/personal/***_***_**/_layouts/15/ guestaccess.aspx?docid=1d150f7e8ae2248eb80ceefb748821bbd&authkey=AW9tFCHNWwgTgvViE9v9tfo&action=embedview&wdAr=1.7777777777777777' width='350px' height='221px' frameborder='0'>This is an embedded <a target='_blank' href='https://office.com'>Microsoft Office</a> presentation, powered by <a target='_blank' href='https://office.com/webapps'>Office Online</a>.</iframe>

4. Embed the link to Wordpress site.

Note: The PowerPoint file on the site can’t be magnify, and Microsoft doesn’t support the way.

Besides, you can upload the file to docs.com, then get the embed link.

1. Sign into https://docs.com.

2. Upload the PowerPoint file.

3. Select Public on the web as below:

4. Click Save.

5. Open the file>click Embed.

6.  Embed the link to Wordpress site.

Thanks,

Qing
