PowerPoint 2016 for Mac spell checker does not Add words to custom dictionary

PowerPoint 2016 15.21.1.160411 for Mac does not perform "Tools - Spelling" correctly when language other than English USA is involved.

In such a case (for instance, for Spanish language), clicking Add button does nothing. It gets stuck there and you must click Ignore to overcome it. Even if you close the PowerPoint file and open it again. No problem in Word, but the issue arises in PowerPoint.

How to fix it? Or is this a PowerPoint 2016 for Mac bug?

In Word you will have to add the dictionary back in manually in the Preferences:
