any suggestions?

Hi Goofoff,

You mentioned "Not everyone has the issue but it showed up after we uninstalled our exchange 2010 environment except our Edge servers". I'd like to confirm whether only some users have this issue after decommissioning the Exchange 2010 server.
If so, please try to disable the third-party add-in referring to the following steps:
1. Start Outlook in safe mode. To do this, click Start, click Run, type outlook.exe /safe, and then click OK.
If Outlook successfully starts in safe mode, the issue that you're experiencing may be caused by a third-party add-in.
2. Check for third-party COM add-ins and disable them.
    a. On the File menu, click Options, and then click Add-Ins.
    b. In the Manage box, click COM Add-ins, and then click Go.
    c. Click to clear the check box next to the third-party add-ins that you want to disable.
    d. Restart Outlook.
If not, please help to collect the following information to narrow down this issue:
1. Test Outlook Connectivity under Office 365 tab via Remote Connectivity Analyzer (RCA).
2. Since you have removed the Hybrid deployment, please do a test in another network environment, such as home network. Check to see if this issue still occurs. This can eliminate the effect in the company network, including SCP (service connection point), the local Autodiscover record, etc..

In order to protect your privacy, please sent the result of RCA via Private Message. Here are the steps to access the private message:
1. Please go to the Your details section on the right side of the community site.
2. Click Private messages.
3. Click the subject title of the response to read the message.

Thanks,
Edward

The issue seems to have been people who were still mapped to public folders (which were not supposed to be in use) and a bunch of disabled/deleted users who we still had mailboxes for which were deleted.

hi goofoff,

thanks for your updates.

firstly, i'd like to confirm if you decommission most of the on-premises exchange server referring to this article. if not, please follow the steps in that article to finish it.

also, please let me know if these public folders which are not in use are located in the on-premises exchange server. if so, it may cause this issue since the on-premises exchange server has been decommissioned. given this situation, please check if the local autodiscover service causes this issue. please try to do the following steps:
1. delete service connection point in the local ad.

2. run get-autodiscovervirtualdirectory | fl name, server, internalurl, identity in the on-premises exchange management shell.
3. run remove-autodiscovervirtualdirectory -identity "server\autodiscover (web site)".
4. run set-clientaccessserver -autodiscoverserviceinternaluri $null.
5. create a new outlook profile and then set up a problematic office 365 mailbox in outlook.

regards,
edward

They wanted all of the exchange MBX/HUB/CAS servers removed. I had told them the management would be annoying without one on prem.

There are no servers left on prem and that entire servers folder in services is empty.

I took care to preserve the attributes
