Outlook 2016 for Windows - Caldav

I just switched from mac to windows and am setting up my gmail account. I noticed that outlook 2016 does not support synchronization of gmail calendars and contacts, since it does not support caldav and cardav.

This is a deal breaker for me and I will run back to my Mac, if there is not plan to support these.

Can anyone inform if Microsoft plans on finding a solution for this? Gmail is the most used email program and I cant understand how outlook does not support these protocols.

Hi PedroKessler,

Currently, Outlook for Mac 2016 doesn't support synchronizing your Google calendars, notes, tasks, and contacts. We appreciate your understanding.

But it is available to achieve it on Outlook 2016 for windows, here are two articles for your reference.
See your Google Calendar in Outlook
Import Google Gmail contacts into Outlook

Hope the above information helps. Please try the suggestions and let me know the result at your convenience.

Thanks for your time.

Best Regards,
Lance

Hi PedroKessler,

In Outlook 2016 for Windows, it only support importing the Google contacts, not synchronizing.

So we would like to suggest you submit feedback via https://office365.uservoice.com/forums/273494-outlook-and-calendar. This is a place for you to suggest good idea on how to improve the Outlook features in Office 365.

Thanks for your understanding.

Best Regards,
Lance

Thank you, but I am trying to get some guidance here: Does Microsoft plan on adding these capabilities in the coming months? The answer is important for my decision (as it is for many others). I will suggest the feature nonetheless.

So, it's a deal breaker. I'm in the same boat. No CalDav means no point to using Outlook, as every other email programme does support it.

Since Outlook 2016 for Windows doesn't have this problem, can Calendar data be transferred or synced with the Mac version of Outlook?

I appreciate your effort, but I would like MS to fix the problem. The fast version of Outlook now supports Goggle Calendar, hopefully iCal Mac is next (the win version supports it). I've already paid for Outlook and don't want to pay for an add on. Thanks
