Delay email in OWA?

Context: Accessing OWA (2013) by going to portal.office.com.

Is there any way to delay / schedule an email to be sent at a later date? I know you can do this using the "Do Not Deliver Before" function in Outlook for desktop, but most of my coworkers use OWA and were wondering if that functionality was available to them.

Hi Allison,

It’s not feasible to delay or schedule sending email messages from Outlook Web App. Regarding this feature please provide your suggestions or feedback via the link: Feedback for Microsoft Office 365 to improve our products feature. Many features of current programs have been designed and upgraded based on customers’ feedback.

Your understanding is highly appreciated.

Best regards,
Shyamal

Question, do I need to have Outlook for Desktop open on the date and time I want the delayed email to be sent?

On January 27, I set an email to be delayed for sending until January 28th. I haven't used outlook for desktop since then (I use OWA from portal.office.com). I just opened Outlook for desktop now - February 3rd - and my message just showed up in my "sent" folder with today's date and time.

hi allison,

yes, delay delivery is an outlook client feature.

may i confirm whether every emails sent in owa encounter the issue?

if so, this is an issue. and we suggest you start a new thread about this, which makes the whole thread more logical.

if not, this could be temporarily issue. and many other factors like network, pc … could affect the email delay.

thanks,

brook

I have tested this feature 3 times now, and the emails do not send until I have Outlook open - which completely misses the point of the feature.

This is definitely an issue.

EDIT: I am having another user test this from a different computer. Will update when testing is complete.

So, yeah, a delayed email will not send from the Outlook client unless it's open. That totally defeats the purpose and this seems like a really useless feature. I wish it worked when the client wasn't open.
