Outlook Rules option for Macros missing after update

Office OUtlook 365. After recent update. My rules that run macros are all broke. Says that action is not available in the current mode.

My rule macros all worked before.

Thanks,

Adam

Hi All,

Here is a workaround about Outlook 2016 missing ‘start application’ and ‘run a script’ actions in Rules.

Please do the following steps to add a new value in your computer’s registry:

1. Click Start -> Search, type ‘regedit’ (Note: there is no quotation marks in the command.) and press Enter.

2. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Security.

3. Right-click a blank area, create a new DWORD Value named as ‘EnableUnsafeClientMailRules’ and set it to 1.

Note: Please back up the Registry before performing the steps above. You can refer to this article to back up your Registry.

Thanks for your time and patience.

Regards,

Barry

Yes but not a permanent solution unless we choose not to update our version anymore.

Would be great if we knew when the issue had been fixed in a new build.
