Flag email for follow-up

I use OUTLOOK 2016 (OFFICE 365) which ACTIVESYNCs to my OUTLOOK.COM email.

Up until a few weeks ago, when I created a NEW EMAIL in OUTLOOK 2016 and selected FOLLOW-UP, it would appear in my TASK list for me to follow-up. Now, the email loses its FOLLOW-UP flag and does not appear in the TASK list and I need to manually go into the SENT ITEMS folder and flag the email for follow-up.

What could be causing this?

Hello,

Please provide more information before we proceed.

-If you login to webmail(www.outlook.com) do you see Outlook Mail in the top left corner?

If yes, then try to configure it as Microsoft Exchange Server account and verify the result.

I've created a new profile. I'm not sure how to activate it and compare it with my existing profile. My email in OUTLOOK on my PC looks exactly the same - the blank email is still there and the flag function on emails that I send is not working.

One thing that I did not was my current profile has a mail server of bay402-m.hotmail.com. Is that correct or should an ACTIVE SYNC account use s.outlook.com?

Hello,

Thank you for reply.

s.outlook.com and m.hotmail.com both servers can be used. You may try to change server to s.outlook.com and verify the result.

You may follow the steps to select different profile.

Press Windows key + R to launch run command.

Copy and paste following command in the Open box and press Enter.

Outlook /profiles

Now you can select different profile.

If issue persist try to configure Outlook.com account as IMAP account by following suggestion given by Diane and verify the result.

I bought a new computer and set-up everything from scratch on the new computer which runs Windows 10. The problem is still occurring.

I then REPAIRED OFFICE 2016 and the problem still remains. Is this an isolated problem or is it happening to other people as well? It's a great functionality that I want to use - and it's been over half a year now since it stopped working.
