Quickly send email with link to web page from Chrome in Outlook 2016?

I really hope I am missing something obvious.

I want to be able to click on a button in Chrome (Windows) and have it open an email in Outlook 2016 with the link pre-pasted in. Is that possible? I am an Office 365 user, so I could accept a link opening in a web page connected to my O365 account and send from there, but I'd prefer it in the desktop client.

Is there a plugin I am just overlooking?

Hi,

Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I am sorry to inform you that as for now there is no option to quickly send email with link to web page from Chrome in Outlook 2016.

This was an excellent feature in office 2010, why was 2016 released without it??  all I used to do then was to click on the mail icon at the top of the chrome toolbar, it opened my outlook, pasted in the web page link and I could then use my outlook contacts list to send the page, now i have to cut and paste the contact address each time I want to use this feature - why????  this is just an other unnecessary step?  Why does microsoft ALWAYS drop all these small but timesaving and useful features whenever it releases 'so-called' updates???  has it never heard of customer research or does it not carry out any product assessment before launching new software?? clearly not . . . thanks anyway . . .

Hope this helps you for sending a Chrome "link/URL address" via email:

First show the bookmark bar:

1) click on the  top right corner symbol = 3 line stack icon

2) select bookmarks

3) select show bookmarks

then do the following:

4)Right click on bookmarks bar

5)select Show Apps shortcut (2nd last of list)

6)then click on Apps shortcut = square coloured dot icon

7) select "Web Store" - 1/2 Chrome icon in shop bag icon

8) search "email link"

9) your choice - select from the list - there are a couple of options - cannot guarantee which will work for you

10)Hint - based on your choice, select the "Related" tab - it shows various types/special functions

11)Select "Add to Chrome" - function will paste to Chrome bar (next to 3 line stack icon)

Geez  . . . that seems so complicated doesn't it? Cannot understand why Chrome exclude such a useful function in the first place

Regards
Max

ALL of those instructions could be replaced by:

1. Go here:  https://chrome.google.com/webstore/search/email%20link

2. See if you find anything that works.

After updating to Windows 10, the Chrome Extension would no longer work.

Had to go into system and assign the default mail client.

Type Default Programs into Cortana,,

Default Apps will appear.  Just assign Outlook 2016 as your default mail client & it works perfectly.

(You will need an extension such as 'Mail This Link', available from the Chrome Store.)
