NormalEmail.dotm - Outlook 2013

I am trying to start up my Outlook and I got this message: 

"Outlook has detected a problem with the existing NormalEmail.dotm.  Would you like to create a new NormalEmail.dotm? "

what is that and what does it mean?

Hi,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Outlook community.

The error message means the ‘Normalemail.dotm’ is the template used by Word for emails is corrupt and requires to be replaced by the new default template.

You may try to rename the normalemail.dotm then try to open Outlook and verify the status.  

1. Close Outlook.

2. Open Run window (press and hold Windows key + R) then copy and paste the following text.

3. C:\Users\es\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates

4. Right click on Normalemail.dotm and rename to Normalemail.old

Note: Some of the customization will be lost and the autocorrect will be reset.
