When I click on new to compose a new email in Outlook 2010, nothing happens and no errors appear.  I can open up an email, but when I click on reply, nothing happens and no errors appear.

What type of email account is setup in Outlook (POP3, IMAP, Exchange and Outlook Connector)?

You may try opening Outlook in application safe and check if the same issue persists.

Click Start and start typing ‘outlook /safe’ in search bar and hit Enter.

(Without the quotes and note the space in the command)

If you’re able to work with Outlook in safe mode, then follow the steps below to disable add-ins.

1.    Click File menu, click Options > Add-in, click Go button in the Manage: Com-in Add.

2.    Check if there is any add-in, clear the checkbox to disable it.

If the issue still persists, create new profile in Outlook, configure an email account and verify the status.

Refer to the article provided below on how to create new profile:

I have been having the same problem for the past 24 hours. One hotmail account works fine while the other will not allow me to create a new email or reply. Not sure why one account works perfectly and the other isn't working. In the account that is messed up I can check my emails and see them but that is it. I am using Internet Explorer.

Thanks!

I am having the same difficulty.  Using Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 11.  Our email is an MSN and we are able to receive/read but not reply/compose/or forward.  This is the second time this has happened...it resolved after several days last time but we did not do anything specific to fix it at that time.  Please help.

Thanks,

Jane

Hello,

Have you configured the MSN account in Outlook or does the issue occurs on webmail?

If the issue occurs within the Outlook program then how it the email account configured?

What happens when you try to ‘Reply/forward’ the emails?

Do you receive any error message?

If the issue occurs on webmail, then then it would be best if you post your query in the MSN forum link mentioned below:

Thank you.
