Outlook 2016 using Exchange by 1and1 pst sync issues

I recently up graded to an Exchange email account by 1and1, previously used basic mail via IMAP but wanted to sync our calendar across our devices 1 laptop, 2 x iphones and 1 tablet. I created a PST for the 2 x email addresses we have but they haven't installed how I thought they would. 

In the left hand bar where the inbox and folders are in between our email adds I now have a mail inbox called outlook datafile and below that there is the message that we have sync issues.....

The sync issues are a real pain help......please TIA. 

Outlook will create .OST files with Exchange Server accounts, one for each account.  How do you intend to use the .PST file?  .PST files are local storage only, anything put into one will only be available on that device.
