Outlook 365 keeps changing my email settings for AOL/Verizon

My AOL/Verizon stopped downloading, so I deleted and re-added my email account, and I noticed Outlook changes my settings from

 Incoming mail server (IMAP): imap.aol.com
 Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.verizon.net
 IMAP-993-SSL
 SMTP-465-SSL

to

Imap.mail.yahoo.com & smtp.mail.yahoo.com.

is there a way to keep my manual settings?

I have a similar problem. I set Incoming and Outgoing settings using verizon.net settings, my e-mails are then received and sent ok. Then next day settings are changed (not by me) to yahoo.com settings and I get send/receive errors.

Cannot do an automatic repair.

Does anyone know what's going on?

Just to clarify:

Yahoo no longer supports Verizon email. That responsibility was transferred to AOL.

The problem is that Outlook is programmed to change any "Verizon.net" account to server settings at Yahoo.com

That part of Outlook programming has to change from Yahoo settings to AOL settings or be removed.

David,

Thanks for the clarification, though I'm not sure what I need to do at this point to get Outlook connected to the right incoming and outgoing servers.  Its troubling that Outlook is programmed to override the manual settings I made based upon directions received from Verizon and AOL when the migration took place.

Right now my settings are now yahoo based (Outlook changed them just as you said) and for some reason worked ok today, though I have no confidence that this will continue.  If Outlook changes them again to AOL settings I'll let this community know.

Thanks again.

Dennis

I just added the Verizon email for a friend and it worked although it needed to go through the manual process and the servers needed to be changed from yahoo to aol but it did work.

Hopefully, Outlook will not automatically revert back to yahoo.

Outlook changes our many verizon.net email accounts back yahoo.com every time.  Our iPhones work fine we use AOL.com as the server.
