DELETE Outlook *PROFILES*?

As an early adopter of Win10, I experienced the complete erasure of my address book.  In trying to recover, I seem to have really messed up my PST files.

I would like to start over from scratch, but I don't know how to go about it.  I would like to absolutely DELETE all existing PROFILES (not just the PST files), because deleting the PST files leads to other issues when I try to recreate entries.

Please advise soonest.

Thanks!

Hi,

Thank you for choosing Microsoft Community.

What is the type of email you are trying to setup in Outlook (POP3, IMAP, Exchange and Outlook Connector)?

You may refer the article provided below, to know more about how to create new profile in Outlook, check if that helps.

Please re-read my question.

I *know* how to create profiles, and add e-mail accounts.

What I want to do is DELETE/ERASE/DESTROY  *old* profiles and their attendant data.

Try again, please.

Thanks.

This MS article shows how to delete Outlook profiles: http://support.office.com/en-us/article/Remove-a-profile-d5f0f365-c10d-4a97-aa74-3b38e40e7cdd?CorrelationId=2a5fc0c1-6bd2-4edd-9833-c3a34e34a31c

After deleting the profile, you can delete all associated PST/OST files as usual.

These replies, like every other one I have seen for this issue refer to the control panel in other version of windows, not windows 10, as the OP said.

Your link led to Mail, not Outlook profile deletion.  Is there not a procedure for Outlook?

Hi Eric,

The article applies to email profiles in Outlook 2016, Outlook 2013, Outlook 2010, and Outlook 2007. Email profiles in Outlook are managed from the Control Panel. We understand that it can be confusing as the name of the applet in Control Panel is also named Mail.

If you need further assistance, please do not hesitate to post a reply.

This applet does not exst in Win 10 Creators with Office365. How about MS fix its help files, or not remove applets that can still be used.

Windows Home 64 bit Ver 15063.608

Office 1709 (build 8528.2126)

If you can find a way to remove an Outlook profile with the current versions, you are a better person than I.

The mail applet exists in all desktop versions of MS Outlook, and is located in the control panel.

The applet should not be confused with the Win10 Mail App.

You click the mail applet and under Profiles, delete them, if really necessary
