printing e-mails with embedded pictures truncates on right side

I have a problem printing html e-mails that contain embedded pictures.  First page of e-mail truncates right side of page.  2nd page and on prints correctly (100% of e-mail is printed; no truncating).  I have this problem in Outlook XP, Outlook 2003 and Outlook 2010.  What is causing this problem?  When I print the e-mail LANDSCAPE, I still have the same problem.

I figured out a workaround - use webmail and it prints perfectly (all pages).  Sure would like to know why this is happening and how to fix it!

Do you face a similar issue when you print documents from other applications?

Change the default printer on the computer to XPS writer and check if you’re able to print without any issues.

No, I don't face similar issue printing in other applications.  This only happens in Outlook.

I tried XPS writer and it does the same thing - first page truncates on right side and all other pages show the entire page (nothing is truncated).

You can't do a print preview in Outlook when it's in HTML format.  If I try to change it to plain text format I get warning message "Changing the formatting of this message from HTML to plain text requires removing all the current formatting, including any pictures you may have included."  Then I'm given a choice of doing it or not doing it.  When I did it, I lost all of the embedded data (excel data that was inserted into the e-mail).  Remember my original complaint is that it does this only when "things" are EMBEDDED into the e-mail.

Same thing - you can't do a print preview in Outlook 2003 when e-mail is in HTML format.

Do you have all the updates installed for Office 2003?

Ensure to have all the updates installed for Office. Also, ensure to have all the updates for the printers installed.

Just so you know I'm not a beginner, I'm a Director of IT for a medium size company.

To answer your questions - YES I have SP3 installed for Office 2003 and I just double checked for latest printer drivers and I have the most up-to-date printer driver.

I'm 99.9% sure this is a problem with Outlook.  As I stated in my first communication, the work-a-round is to use our company's WEBMAIL and then I can print the same e-mail perfectly (no truncating).  I only get the truncating problem in Outlook.

I hope this helps you to troubleshoot this problem.  Thank you.

I have the same problem. If it helps, when I open to view an HTML email, the left margin of the body is indented to the right of the header. In a "normal" email, the left margin of the body lines up w/ the email header.

when I bring up the same email in Comcast Smartzone and print it, the left margin of the body aligns with the left margin of the heading & also the right margins align - No right margin text truncation. So, it's an Outlook 2003 issue??
