My Outlook 2003 keeps asking for my network password every time I hit send/receive. I've tried many typical fixes--see below.

My Outlook 2003 keeps asking for my network password every time I hit send/receive. I have tried the following so far: 1. Set up a new profile.  2.Create a new Outlook identity (regedit)  3. Checked for misspelled words or errors in my Outlook email mail account.  4. Removed all of my Outlook email account info and reentered them. 5. Restarted the computer.  6. Hard shutdown of the computer. Nothing has worked. Any ideas? Thanks!  *** Email address is removed for privacy ***

Does the same password work on the webmail?

Yes. Gmail. No problems at all on Gmail.

Also, I tried accessing Outlook in Safe mode, but it still prompts me for the network password.

Thanks for any ideas you may have.

Refer to the “Method 3” from the following article:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290684

If issue still persists, restart the computer in Windows clean boot mode and check if it works.

Note: Ensure to restart the computer to normal mode once Office gets installed.

You tacked onto a thread that's over five years old and is about a version of Office that probably doesn't match the one you're using. It would be better to start your own thread.
