In Outlook 2010 - Receive error 0x800CCC0f when sending/receiving mail

I am using Outlook 2010 Professional Plus to use for my email.  However, recently when I click send/receive folders , I receive the following message:

Task *********@******.com- receiving' reported error (0x800CCC0f): The connection to the server was interrupted.  If this error continues, please contact your ISP.

I have contacted my Internet provider and The CSR said that it is an Outlook issue.  When I use a web browser to download my mail, it works fine.  I searched online for a solution but could not find any solutions.

I have tried opening Outlook in safe mode and it still happens.  In the account settings, when I test the settings, I receive the emails successfully.

The error happens when I download the last message.

Any help would be appreciated!!!

Solution

  1. Navigate to File >> Options >> Advanced >> scroll down to the send/receive heading >> click on the send/receive button on the right
  2. On the right hand side of the send/receive groups window that opens click on the Edit button
  3. Un-check the "Get folder unread count for subscribed folders"
  4. Under Received mail items, check the option "User the custom behavior defined below"
  5. In the window below that displays your mail folders just select inbox and leave the others unchecked
  6. Click Ok and then exit out of options and perform a send/receive to test if it is now working
This worked for me.
