icloud add in will not load

beech35p asked on
Spent 4 hours on the phone with Apple but could not figure out why the Icloud add in will not load in Outlook 2010. De-installed and re-installed all Apple products, Outlook and Office 2007. No change. The add in is visible and disabled. Check the box to install and recycle only to find it back in the disabled section.

Did you already configure the icloud? Go to Control panel and start icloud from there. It will set it up Outlook and enable the addin. If its not setup, you can't start the icloud app. If you hd it configured but removed it from outlook, you need to enable it through the control panel, not outlook Outlook and icloud problems

Run ‘Outlook 2010’ as an administrator and then try to enable the icloud addin.

To open ‘Outlook’ as an administrator:

Browse to the location C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14 or C:\Program Files(x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14, right click on the ‘Outlook.exe’ file and click on ‘Run as Administrator’.

You may also install the icloud application in compatible mode and check if it helps. For more information refer to the following thread:

Thank You! No luck though. The add in still remains disabled even after opening in "Administrator" mode. Any other ideas???

Thanks again.

Mention the steps you tried to enable the Add-in?

Refer to the steps in the following link to turn on installed Add-ins:

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-help/enable-or-disable-add-ins-in-office-programs-HA010034127.aspx#BM17

Also refer to the following link and check if it helps:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms268871.aspx

You may check if Outlook is running in compatibility mode.

Navigate to C: \Program Files \Microsoft Office \Office14 \Outlook.exe, right click on Outlook.exe -> Properties ->Compatibility ->Uncheck “Run this program in compatibility mode for” and “Run this program as an administrator”, click Apply and OK and then check.

Hi Tom,

You may remove and re-add the account from the iCloud Control Panel and Outlook and check.

Note: Ensure the account is also removed in Outlook if present. You may also check if the version of iCloud Control Panel installed on the computer is compatible with Outlook 2010.

If issue persists, you may reinstall the iCloud application and verify the results.

Thank you

I found the add-in under the Disables add-ins, and I selected it, and clicked "Enable". Nothing happened. Now the icloud add-in isn't showing up anywhere. How do I re-install the add in?
