How do I change the font in outlook on incoming mail etc.

The font on incoming mail etc. and task bar are very small.  How do I make the letters bigger?  Also I would like to see the font larger as I am typing this message.   Where do I go to adjust this??

Your help will be appreciated.

Try the below mentioned steps:

1.    Click on Tools->Trust center->Trust center settings->E-mail security.

2.    Under Read as Plain Text check the box Read all standard mail in Plain text.

3.    Click ok.

4.    Click Tools->Mail Format->Stationery and Fonts.

5.    Click on Fonts for Composing and reading plain text messages.

6.    Select the required font and click ok.

Note: The above steps can be applied only if the emails are set to be read in plain text.

To change the font size of the email header (which you see on the taskbar)

1.    Click on view->custom->custom settings->conditional formatting.

2.    Change the font to the required one.

3.    Click ok and check.

Note: The above steps would work only on a Unread email.

These look like a mix of instructions between Outlook 2007 and 2010 versions.

Outlook 2010:
  1. Click File > Options > Trust Center (category) > Trust Center Settings... (button) > E-mail Security (category)
  2. Under 'Read as Plain Text', check the box next to 'Read all standard mail in plain text' > click OK once to return to Outlook Options.
  3. Click Mail (category) > Stationary and Fonts... (button).
  4. Under 'Composing and reading plain text messages', click Font... (button).
  5. Adjust the font size/settings as desired (how to you want to see new messages?) and click OK when done, then OK to exit the Signatures and Stationary window, and OK again to exit Outlook Options.

    Note - You will have to click off of whatever email you had selected while changing the settings, then click back on it to see the changes you've made.
Since Outlook 2007 is getting long in the tooth, I'll not rehash the instructions for it.
