Stop Outlook from automatically sending meeting invite

How can I stop Outlook 2007 from automatically sending out a meeting request? It's like it's a recurring event. It's not on my calendar, but I don't know where else to look. I've went to Organize Calendar and looked at "Recurring Appointments" but it's not there. I've even done a search for the meeting title, but the only thing it finds are the responses I've gotten from people who have received this automatic request. Anyone know?

Did you ever send this meeting request? Is it a recurring event or just one that kees getting sent?

Are you scanning outgoing email with a virus scanner?

It was a meeting request that I did setup about 3 yrs ago, but I deleted it off my calender. So I thought that by deleting it off my calendar that the message would stop being sent, but that didn't work. It's like Outlook still has it in it's memory somewhere, but I don't know where or how to make it stop.

What is the format of the email account you have configured in Outlook (POP, IMAP, Exchange, MAPI)?

You can select and delete the calendar items in the default calendar folder and check if it helps.

Calendar > view tab > current view > all Appointments > select the recurring corrupt calendar appointments in the list and delete them.

I tried what you said Natasha, but I don't have a "recurring corrupt calendar appointments" in the list to select. I did view all recurring appointments and all appointments, but again this meeting request is not there. It does show me all the recurring birthday's and holidays I put in.

This is happening to me right now. In my scenario, I have a non-ending date weekly once recurring all day event invite. But the invite is getting sent automatically every week without me actually sending it. I don't know why this is occuring. Anyone have any thoughts? I use Outlook 2010

I'm having the same issue - which lead me here when I did a Google search. Not sure if it's a bug, or a feature I'm not aware of.

Just prior to a meeting, Outlook will automatically send a meeting notice, without any other intervention. It's a standing meeting. This JUST started happening. The meeting has been scheduled for some time now...

Same problem.  Began in January 2016.  There were no changes to my computer or Outlook that would have precipitated a change...but I did switch to a new mobile phone -- my first iPhone -- and around the same time, the undesired re-sending of meeting notices began...

it is a known issue with iphones. It seems ot come and go, but the recommendation is to view, not accept or edit meetings on the phone.

Astonishing.  This issue is well known since 6 years and still unresolved.  I have got in to this issue since two weeks.  Reinstallation of the PC also did not stop this inconvenience.  What can be done to avoid this atrocity
