Outlook for MAC 2011 - problem sending attachments "Message could not be saved"

I get this error message sporadically when I'm trying to send an email with attachments.  It seems to only happen when I'm "attaching" files that are stored on a network drive...would this cause any trouble?  Never before with Outlook for Windows, nor do I have the issue with OWA or Mac Mail.  These are pretty smalll Excel files...any ideas?  Also happens occaionally when I email the file directly from the application.  any suggestions would be appreciated...for now I've switched to Mac Mail.  THANKS.

Had this issue, it was because the documents being attached were open else where.

After determining that I had the same issue with Outlook 2011, I did some testing based on observations from this thread. I've determined that you can do the following and obtain these results:

1. Attach a file from a network share and send it successfully.
2. Have a netshare file open and attach to email - send unsuccessful.
3. Attach a file from desktop and send successfully.
4. Open a file from desktop, attach to email and send successfully.
5. Open a desktop file by the same name, attach netshare file (same name) and send successfully.

>> all test attachments use drag/drop method.

So to summarize, close your files before sending a netshare file through email or get MS to fix this bug.
