Office Update 15.32.0 (17030901) gets stuck and never completes

During autoupdate of Office 2016 components (word, excel, etc), the installer downloads the update but seems to get stuck installing the first item Outlook.

I am running MacOS 10.12.3.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi dougy-loves-ramen,

If you have an old version of Silverlight installed on your Mac and try installing the latest version of Office 2016 for Mac via Microsoft AutoUpdate, the AutoUpdate tool will crash. Please refer to the following article to fix the issue:
Microsoft AutoUpdate tool for Office for Mac crashes with older versions of Silverlight

If the issue persists, I would like to confirm the following information to clarify your situation:
1. A screenshot of the error message if you got one.
2. A screenshot of the AutoUpdate version. The latest version is 3.8.4, please download the version to check the outcome. Before you update Office, please close all applications and browsers, a clean startup will be better, this can prevent a 3-rd party program interfering the updating.
3. A screenshot of the Silverlight version.

For more information, please scroll down to the More about Microsoft AutoUpdate section in the following article:

Regards,
Linda
