Plain text font changes with printing

I am using Outlook For Mac 15.22 on a MacBook Pro 13 running OS X 10.11.5.  I keep my Outlook up-to-date with regular updates.

I am experiencing an unexplainable issue whereby the font I've set for reading and composing plain text messages in Outlook preferences (Equity Text A) works fine within Outlook windows, but as soon as I try to print an Outlook item, it converts all the plain body text into another font (Avenir Next) which is what actually ends up getting printed.

I had previously (months ago) had Avenir Next listed as my default plain text font in Outlook preferences.

I am wondering if maybe there is an obscure settings file notation somewhere -- either in Outlook library or in OS X library? -- where I need to over-write a setting?

I could probably do a full wipe of my Outlook install and setting, then re-install all over again, but I don't want to lose all my other preferences and settings if I don't have to.  Thus the interest in a more targeted solution than just uninstall and reinstall.

If anyone else has either experienced the same issue, and/or identified a solution, please reply here.

Thanks!

Update Office to 15.23 version and check if it resolves this issue.

1. Open any Office application:

3. Make sure your Mac has a working internet connection

4. Go to the Help menu and choose Check for Updates

5. Let AutoUpdate check for and install updates

6. Restart your Mac

I tried that (to the letter) and still no luck.  It's almost as if there is a configuration file somewhere that isn't updating when I change the default font in Outlook menu > Preferences > Fonts.

Start your Mac in Safe Mode.

Then, use Font Book(it’s in Applications > Utilities folder) or other font utility to validate ALL your fonts. Delete old versions of duplicate fonts. Delete fonts that don't validate completely. Restart your Mac and empty the trash to get rid of the unneeded fonts and free up disc space.

Then, do a regular restart. Any better?

Be sure to include the version number and OS version when asking your question.

Tried your suggestion, all my fonts were validated as ok. Did not resolve the issue.

This is starting to sound more like a bug than anything else. Click the Smile button in Outlook and choose the Send a Frown option to alert Microsoft to this problem.
