Outlook for Mac 2016 (march 2017 update - version 15.32 (170309)) - email attachments disappering

I updated Outlook for Mac yesterday (3/13) via Microsoft AutoUpdate. I noticed this morning that email attachments (pdf files in both cases) displayed in the reading pane, are not available when I open the emails to read them.

On closing the emails, the attachment stopped displaying altogether in the reading pane, though an attachment icon (office clip) is still shown in the summary pane.

Hello Lofeg,

This is very known issue. You need to install the latest Insider 15.33 build to fix your problem.

1. Open Outlook 2016 for Mac.
2. On the Help menu, select Check for Updates.
3. Select the check box to Join the Office Insider program, and then choose Insider Fast from the menu.

Or you can use temporary workaround using the Web mail to access the attachments.

Thanks!

Hi Shyamal,

I joined the insider program and tried the steps that you outline from the terminal and I still have the same problem.

This is a serious problem as I get attachments for my job all the time and is making Outlook for Mac almost unusable. I would be very grateful if you could provide a solution that works.

Best regards

Matt

I am now able to access and view email attachments as normal after a restart of the MacBook. I did not execute the above instructions though.

Hi Lofeg,

Thanks for the sharing information. We are glad to hear that the issue is resolved.

@Matt, since you are joining insider program. However, Office Insiders have the option to receive assisted support within the Outlook 2016 for Mac email app. You can directly report a technical issue or provide feedback, open Outlook and select Help > Contact Support.

See: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/msoffice_officeinsider-mso_mac/outlook-for-mac-office-insiders-in-app-option/6af73090-157f-4b95-9388-6cd126d9cb4d

Regarding this point, we would truly appreciate your kind understanding.

This is unbelievable. How can you release these monthly updates with so many bugs!

I just installed the March 9th Office update and find that none of my Outlook commands, buttons, keyboard shortcuts work. I've restarted, you name it, to no avail.

Get your act together.

Hi LP Fortin Burroughes,

May I know which Outlook 2016 for Mac client version are you using? If you are using insider program. You can directly report a technical issue or want to report a bug/feedback, open Outlook and select Help > Contact Support.

Thanks for your understanding.
