iPhone app for Outlook keeps crashing

I have an iPhone 8 Plus device and I am running iOS 11.3

The problem I have is that the Outlook mobile app keeps crashing upon startup. I like the app and the functionality it provides (It used to work on my old iPad a couple of years back).

I've tried many things such as:

a) Clearing up the cache (multiple times)

b) Reinstalling the app (multiple times)

c) Installing the latest version of the app, with all the released updates.

Any help will be much appreciated

Hello MysticMan2303,

iOS 11.3 came out recently. Did the app start crashing when you updated to 11.3 or was it crashing before?

If it wasn't crashing before, I would wait for a new Outlook app to be released to the app store to fix any bugs caused by iOS 11.3.

The app was crashing even prior to 11.3. I waited until this time to see if any iOS updates would resolve this issue, but it hasn't been the case.

From what I’ve researched in the last couple of months, this seems to be a well-known issue but with no credible resolution.

What kind of email account do you have setup in the Exchange app?

It's my work email.

This morning, I tried to do the following:

1) Clear all browser cache

2) Uninstall & Reinstall app after #1 is complete

I've done this twice in the past. Let's see if the third time will do the trick. On the previous two occasions, I've noticed that when I perform #1 & 2, the app will boot up and the phone will start sync'ing. The issues I mentioned in my original post would start happening once the sync completed.

Do you know what kind of account your work e-mail is? Gmail or Exchange or something else?

Maybe you can check with your work support. Anecdotally, I am using the Exchange app with an Exchange work email, and it works just fine on an iPhone 6s and iPhone X.

In the past, I've had good experience in using this app for my personal accounts on my iPad. But, I've had no luck with my iPhone 8 Plus for my work account. In any case, I was able to somehow reach out to the Outlook support group, and they're looking into my case. I'll update this thread once they get back to me.

I'll also try to get some help from my IT folks at work, in parallel.
