Cannot log into Outlook App (The connection to your mail server timed out. Please check your mail server)

Hello everyone, 

I am able to get on my Outlook fine on the computer, and decided to download the app on my Android. When I log in, the first screen I see is my email address checked with a "password required". I click on add account, type in my password, and I get a prompt, "The connection to your mail server timed out. Please check your mail server."

I contacted microsoft support, but they were not able to help. I am stumped because I need the app to keep up with my appointments.

Good evening, 

I am using Outlook on my desktop. Last night, I contacted Microsoft customer service, she ghost my computer, and tried to fix the issue. But after nearly 30 minutes, she said I needed to contact my Internet Service Provider. :-\

I found out that Outlook does not support AOL addresses, so if I can switch the primary email address to Gmail (which I have) I would do that.  I also saw that My Outlook Calendar said (This Computer Only) and I am not even sure to sync it to the app.  How do I change my primary email in my Outlook account so I can use both?
