Wrong week numbers in Outlook for Android (week 53 is missing for 2020)

I just realized my calendar in outlook for android is missing week 53 in 2020.  The outlook android app considers week 53 in 2020 as week 1 in 2021 which is wrong.

There are several mutually equivalent and compatible descriptions of week 01:

  • the week with the year's first Thursday in it (the formal ISO definition),
  • the week with 4 January in it,
  • the first week with the majority (four or more) of its days in the starting year, and
  • the week starting with the Monday in the period 29 December – 4 January.

So the week numbers in 2021 will always be wrong.  Week 7 is shown as week 8 in the app et cetera.  This is a design flaw in the app.

It has been solved by Microsoft. 

We have registered a support call a week ago and explained the situation and they have updated the Outlook Android app (on their side, since you do not have to update the app when you are already using 2048.4 and possibly older versions?). 

When going to the setting and selecting the week numbers option, a new screen appears which let you choose the correct week number 1.
