Microsoft error reporting

I keep getting a notification on my Mac saying:

"There was a problem with Microsoft Update Assistant and your recent work might be lost"

When I press the okay button, the notification simply comes back after 30 seconds.
Any idea what is causing this crash?

Hello,

Looking at some of the other postings in the forums, you might want to try this article:

Update Office for Mac automatically - Office Support (microsoft.com)

There's a link for downloading the latest version of the AutoUpdate tool that seems to have helped some folks.
