Download media folder from OneDrive without logging in?!

Hello,

I created one main folder with 2 sub-folders. One has 205 files (about 4 GB), the other one 161 files (about 1 GB). Now I share this main folder, no one is able to download it all or the one that has 4 GB without logging in. BUT it works for the smaller one.

How, why? Seems very silly! I want to share my media with a group and people and maybe only a few of them have Microsoft account...

Please make sure to perform the steps in this article Share OneDrive files and folders to share the main folder with people.

And note to set the permission of link is Anyone with this link can edit this item.

With this, people can access the shared folder without signing in.

 

If above doesn't help, please provide the information below for troubleshooting:

1.Regarding "Now I share this main folder, no one is able to download it all or the one that has 4 GB without logging in."

Please capture related screenshots to describe it or if there is any error message.

2.Do the people you share with are internal users or external users?

Apologies for the late reply, but I was away...

The link that I shared with the group of people was shared as 'Anyone with this link can view this item.' - because I do not want anyone to be able to edit the folder, just view and download the files. However, I just tried what you said and it did not make any difference!

Please capture related screenshots to describe it or if there is any error message.

So I shared "this main" called 'Summer Sailing Week 2017 Croatia'.

If anyone presses on 'Download', they are being redirected to:

However, if they try to download 'OnePlus' folder (1 GB), it works!

Then, if they try to download 'GoPro' folder (4 GB) in the same way, they are again being redirected to the login page.

Therefore, this is not consistent and does not work as expect!

2.Do the people you share with are internal users or external users?

External, friends, hence there is no reason for them to login just to download my pictures...

- Yes, to anyone.

What browser do you use? Have you tried to use other browsers?

- I have tried Firefox, Chrome, Edge and Internet Explorer from other computers, even 'incognito' mode.

Can you please share a screenshot of the SharePoint admin center>sharing’s setting?

- Not sure how can I access that? As I do not use Office 365, just OneDrive, hence why I created this question in the relevant section, and someone decided to move it to OneDrive for Business, Office 365, etc.
