Alert on a OneDrive folder change

Dear MS product users,

I am looking for a solution for resolving my current need.

I owe an OneDrive Business space as my company has subscribed for an Office365 subscription for its employees.

I created a folder I shared with my team for exchanging our work.

I now want to automatically alert the team when :

- a file is updated within this folder

- a file is added

I tried to use Flows, but this is not working for recursion (ie the trigger work only for the files created/modified in a specific folder, does not work on a folder containing files added to the triggered folder).

Could you help me to simply set up this alerting ?

Regards

Answer

Hi Nicolas,

In OneDrive for business, you can set an alert which will send the email notification to notify set of people if anything is changed in the shared folder. To do this, follow the steps below:

  1. Open OneDrive for business on the browser.
  2. Click Return to classic OneDrive at the bottom left corner

      3. Click Setting icon (gear icon) and click Ribbon to turn it ON.

      4. Select the shared folder

      5. Go to Library tab on the ribbon, click Alert me>Set Alert on this library.

6. In the Send Alerts to box, enter the names of the users you wish to send the alert of the change.

Thanks,

Neha
